It Remains aims to make the audience part of the creative process behind a multimedia franchise. The project addresses the disconnect between mainstream storytelling and Web3 by letting the community co-create the franchise and even influence in-world outcomes through token-based mechanics. A gamified, AR-enhanced novel experience lets readers interact with characters, solve mysteries, and earn rewards. The dystopian narrative also spotlights real issues like plastic pollution and homelessness, adding a purpose-driven edge to the project.

The Resister (RSTR) token has a fixed supply of 1 billion tokens. Its distribution favors community growth: only ~15% went to private investors (pre-seed, seed, strategic, private rounds) while 18.65% is allocated to in-game rewards, 15% to a community DAO treasury, and 4.35% for airdrops. The team holds 20% (locked for 12 months, then vested over 24). RSTR is used to unlock content, empower players’ NFT characters (holding tokens boosts them) and for governance voting in the franchise. There’s no built-in burn or deflation mechanism, supply is fixed, so long-term value will depend on growing utility and demand.

It Remains has an ambitious roadmap. In the near term, the team is working on a pilot animated series for Netflix and plans to develop a feature film combining animation with live action. The long-term vision is to establish a new model of interactive, decentralized entertainment, essentially becoming a Web3 era transmedia franchise. This approach could carve out a unique niche if successful, but it faces significant execution risks. Building a multi-platform story universe is costly and complex but entertainment products also have a very high ceiling if they get viral.

It Remains has been financed through a series of small token sales and NFT drops rather than one large venture round. The founding philosophy appears to center on building proof-of-concept first, implying a preference for lean capital deployment rather than raising large upfront sums. In addition, the project has monetized through NFT drops – a limited “Legendary” 1-of-1 NFT collection (which sold out in 2023) helped bootstrap the project. The team asserts that over 20 global investors have backed It Remains, however these investors have not been identified, which raises questions regarding the credibility of the project.

It Remains drives engagement through immersive mechanics – AR hunts, narrative puzzles, and plans for real-world “immersive experiences” across multiple countries. Early NFT backers receive incentives such as airdropped tokens and narrative influence rights, anchoring a loyal “core” group of stakeholders. The team consistently publishes story content, runs contests, and solicits fan ideas to amplify growth. If the project sustains content delivery, roadmap credibility, and trust, this approach could cultivate a durable, value-aligned community – but only if momentum, transparency, and real utility continue to support the narrative.

It Remains is one of the first movers combining multi-platform storytelling with blockchain tech. However, some analogous Web3 projects are emerging. For example, the NFT-driven Forgotten Runes Wizard’s Cult is building a community-created fantasy franchise that has expanded into comics and is developing an animated TV series. Such efforts show there is a growing niche for community-owned IP. More broadly, It Remains competes with traditional entertainment IPs and established crypto games for users’ time and attention. While the concept of a blockchain-based franchise is still novel (meaning the field isn’t saturated yet), this also means the model is unproven.

The project’s uniqueness in blending Hollywood-style content with crypto is a strength, but it will need to deliver quality content to stand out against mainstream franchises with far bigger budgets. In essence, It Remains is pioneering a new arena, but any new entrants (or legacy media adapting similar strategies) will up the competitive pressure.
